Keenan Behrle is someone who truly gives back. A prominent member of the community, he has shared his vast knowledge of the law and business, served on many boards and committees, and aided countless philanthropic programs and causes on behalf of UCLA.
Behrle is executive vice president of Westminster Capital, Inc., a private investment firm. Prior to joining Westminster Capital, he practiced law with the Pacht Ross firm in Los Angeles.
He has held many leadership positions at UCLA: president of the UCLA Foundation (2000-02) and chair (2002-04); member of the UCLA Foundation Board of Directors (1977-2007 and 2009-present); and chair of the UCLA Annual Fund (1991-95).
Campaign UCLA was the most ambitious fundraising effort in public higher education history, and Behrle played an integral role in its success as a member of the Campaign Steering Committee. Launched in 1997, the campaign achieved its original goal of raising $1.2 billion more than two years ahead of schedule. The campaign ultimately raised more than $3 billion.
Having contributed his time and talent to UCLA since his graduation from the UCLA Law School, there are many more examples of Behrle’s service. He was vice president of governmental affairs for the Alumni Association Board of Directors (1981-85), and was on the alumni board again (2000-02). He served on the Board of Visitors of the Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning in 1984. He was a member of the Law School Alumni Association board (1999-2001). In 2006, he became a member of the School of Public Affairs Dean’s Policy Circle.
Behrle is a life member of the UCLA Alumni Association and a member of the Law School Alumni Association.
In 1992 Keenan received a heart transplant at UCLA. As a transplant recipient, he has served on the Board of Directors of UNOS and on the UNOS Thoracic Organ Transplantation Committee. He also serves as chair of the California Heart Center Foundation Board of Directors.
Keenan earned his law degree from UCLA School of Law in 1969 and was admitted to the California State Bar Association in 1970.
