The UCLA Lambda Alumni Association depends on the generosity of our alumni community for the funds to operate and continue to award scholarships to LGBTQ students each year.
Each year, the UCLA Lambda Alumni Association awards at least one 4-year $1,000/year scholarship (for incoming freshman students) or 2-year$1,000/year scholarship (for incoming transfer students). We select a scholar from a competitive pool of applicants, and the awardee becomes a UCLA Alumni Scholar, part of a cohort of students who receive support from the UCLA Alumni Association and are asked to give back to the university. We take great pride in being a part of this scholarship tradition.
If you are interested in volunteering to help with scholarship selection, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lambda has historically awarded one or two awards to continuing or graduating LGBTQ or ally undergraduate students each year. Announced at Lavender Graduation (a commencement event for LGBTQ students) in June, the award recognizes students’ contributions to the LGBTQ community on campus, and hopes to inspire continued service and activism.
All UCLA alumni are now members of the Alumni Association with the option to upgrade to the Blue or Gold level. You can upgrade your membership here and select to support the ‘Lambda Alumni Scholarship Fund.’
We can not scholarships each year without the philanthropy of generous and passionate alumni. In addition to funds to support our scholarships for LGBTQ students, we raise funds for our annual operations – including events held for students and alumni, and discretionary support for LGBTQ activities on campus and students in need.
