ULAA 2019
The UCLA Latino Alumni Association (ULAA) is the recipient of the UCLA Award for Network of the Year honoring their outstanding contributions to the UCLA community and their support for UCLA’s mission of education, research, and public service. Since 1989 ULAA’s mission is to organize Latino alumni, family and friends of UCLA for the benefit and advancement of the Latino community, UCLA alumni, students, faculty and staff. The network provides its members educational, social and cultural opportunities to stay engaged with UCLA and has been instrumental in providing financial, academic, social and professional support to Latino students, faculty and staff.

The centerpiece of ULAA's history of service to the university is its scholarship program, awarding more than 800 students more than $1.5 million since 1991. In honor of its 30th anniversary this fall, the network has committed to broadening the reach of its impact with an ambitious campaign to increase its UCLA Latino Alumni Endowment Fund to $1 million. Through this endeavor, ULAA will encourage and assist Latino students to attend UCLA, and provide them the support they need to succeed both financially and through mentorship via their OrgullOSO Mentor Program.

ULAA fosters the development of future UCLA Latino alumni leaders and hosts networking activities, community service opportunities, career resources, academic lectures and social events. Alumni engagement reached a milestone in their recent 2018 board elections, with the participation of more than 1,100 Bruins. As the UCLA Latino Alumni Association grows, it continues to elevate the scope of its service, increasing representation and advancing the past, current and future UCLA Latino community.
