A. Janet Tomiyama, M.A. '04, Ph.D. '09A. Janet Tomiyama, M.A. '04, Ph.D. '09, associate professor of psychology at UCLA, was interviewed for the "Boost Your Body Acceptance For Better Health" episode of NPR's Life Kit. In her interview, Tomiyama discusses weight stigma with NPR Health Editor and Host of the episode Maria Godoy, sharing, "It doesn't matter what your objective weight is — what really matters is how you think about yourself.”

Tomiyama earned both of her graduate degrees in psychology. Prior to returning to UCLA as a faculty member, she was an associate professor at Rutgers University – New Brunswick.
