Former UCLA Alumni Association Board member Carlos Collard '03, Cert. '03, is now overseeing Santa Monica's zero waste efforts, some sustainability events and segments of the city's waste management operation.

"Sustainability was always an area I embraced in my personal life and some of the volunteer projects in which I participated, so I wanted to see if I could make it part of my professional life," said Collard.

This week, Collard participated in the 2024 Green Sports Alliance Summit, an annual event for those in the sports and sustainability space. Joining Collard on the conference's roster of speakers were Martha Saucedo and Jaime Nack, with whom Collard served on the Alumni Board from 2018 through 2021.
