Chip Humphries '97
Veteran wealth manager Chip Humphries '97 has been named to the 2025 Forbes “Best-in-State Wealth Advisors” list, published on April 8.
Humphries' career in wealth management began in 1998, when he joined Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. He is a qualified portfolio manager who, in addition to providing traditional advice and guidance, can help clients pursue their objectives by building and managing his own personalized or defined strategies, which may incorporate individual stocks and bonds, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management model portfolios and third-party investment strategies.
When servicing clients through the firm's Investment Advisory Program, a portfolio manager may manage his strategies on a discretionary basis. In addition, Humphries focuses on in intergenerational wealth transfer strategies, using a holistic approach. He is a Certified Financial Planner® certificant, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., and also holds a Certified Investment Management Advisor® (CIMA®) designation.
Humphries earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and lettered on the Bruins’ varsity tennis team for three years. He previously served as a director of the Bruin Professionals organization and is a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute™ (The Institute).
Humphries was also named to the Forbes “Best-in-State Wealth Advisors” list in 2022.
