Daniel Nguyen '07, M.S. '08, won his quarterfinal game in the inaugural "Jeopardy!" Champions Wildcard Tournament, earning a spot in the semifinal game, Tuesday, Oct. 17.
Commenting just after that semifinal aired, Nguyen said, "Unfortunately, I didn't win tonight, but I did get a shoutout in!" [See photo.] Referring to the hand-signal counterpart of the UCLA 8-clap, he said, "'4s up' up was made after I graduated, so forgive me if my form isn't the best!"
Nguyen earned his bachelor's degree in statistics and his master's in biostatistics at the Fielding School of Public Health. A high school math teacher at Palo Alto (California) High School, he is currently a doctoral student in educational leadership at Mills College, where he earned a master's degree in that discipline.
