Donna Gale Bentley, M.L.S. '81

Donna Gale Bentley, M.L.S. '81, of Columbia Falls, Maine, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 19. She was 65.

Born May 17, 1957, to Pete and Jean Bentley, Donna grew up in Ontario, California, graduating from Chaffey High School in 1975. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in liberal studies from UC Riverside in 1979 before earning her master of library science degree from UCLA.

After working as a librarian at St. Mary’s College, Maryland, UNC Greensboro and UN Reno, Bentley served as children’s librarian at the Ontario Public Library. In 1992 she was hired as reference librarian by the University of La Verne. Following nearly three decades of service, she was conferred as Professor Emeritus at retirement in 2020.

Bentley is survived by brothers Baffrey Bentley of Harrington, Maine, and Charles Bentley of Dayton, Nevada. She is preceded in death by her parents.
