Donni Zheng, M.S. '20, is featured on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam for leading the "Healthy Fashion Movement" that empowers women to be confident and achieve their full potential.

"The Healthy Fashion Movement was first started in 2017 when I was still at school," Zheng says. "And UCLA professors helped a lot in building this in shape, so I really appreciate them in making this happen! It also makes history as the first Asian-led fashion movement, redefining beauty standards and breaking the stereotype that Asians don’t speak up and mostly follow in the fashion industry. So far, our Healthy Fashion Movement has inspired over a million followers from over 14 countries worldwide.

"I hope this story could inspire more Bruins globally to love themselves and contact me if they are suffering from body shaming, eating disorders or other women empowerment issues. Second, I also hope to unite more Bruins who are also into fashion/inclusion and diversity together, so that we could create a bigger social change while helping younger Bruins to achieve their career goals in the fashion and media industry."

Zheng earned her master's degree in environmental health.
