Eleanor Jean Schwartz '29, M.A. '34

Bruin Eleanor Jean Schwartz ’29, M.A. ’34 passed away on Nov. 23, 2016 at her home in Coronado, California. She was 94.

Schwartz was born in Los Angeles, California on Sept. 18, 1922. She attended UCLA and was an active member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Throughout her life, Schwartz helped preserve and support the legacy of UCLA. A Coronado resident and homeowner since 1978, Schwartz was a member of the Coronado Yacht Club and the Coronado Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald M. Schwartz who passed away on Dec. 7, 2013 and her son, Scott E. Oakley.

Schwartz is survived by sons, Richard Oakley and Christopher Oakley; stepson, Jerry Schwartz and stepdaughter, Nicki Troutman; grandchildren, Stephen Oakley, Jeffrey Oakley and Kevin Palmer; and great granddaughter, Alex Oakley.
