Ferran Prat, Ph.D. '99Ferran Prat, Ph.D. '99, chief commercial officer at BostonGene, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Texas Medical Center (TMC).

“Ferran Prat has an exceptional record of building strategic partnerships across leading research institutions and biotech companies,” said William McKeon, president and CEO of Texas Medical Center. “His insight into translational science and commercialization will enhance our strategy to move discoveries from the lab to the patient more efficiently.”

Prat is a life sciences executive with extensive experience in strategy, licensing and company formation across therapeutics, diagnostics and medical devices. He previously served as senior vice president of Research Administration and Industry Relations at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he helped drive industry collaborations and translational research. His leadership experience includes serving as Geschäftsführer at Adnagen GmbH, board member at Syena, Vescor Therapeutics, CTMC and OncoResponse Inc., chairing the Life Sciences chapter of the Greater Houston Partnership, and co-founding Cancer Focus Fund I and II.

Prat holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from UCLA, a J.D. in law from the University of San Diego (magna cum laude), and a B.S. in chemical engineering from IQS-Barcelona.
