Joel S. Peck '62, J.D. '65

Joel S. Peck '62, J.D. '65, president of the UCLA Graduate Students' Association in the 1960s, died May 14, 2023.

A proud Bruin, Peck received his bachelor's degree in political science and also studied anthropology. He valued his work as an L.A. County public defender for many years and was honored to be elected president of the Criminal Courts Bar Association in 1997.

Peck was known for his sense of humor, his skill at listening, and for his enthusiasm for learning. His family, wife Paulette Benson '66 and adult children James and Shira, will dearly miss him.
