Lila Lee ’58

Lila H. Lee ’58 of Costa Mesa, California, lost her struggle with cancer on Jan. 8, 2017. She was 80 years old.

Born in Los Angeles, she enjoyed most of her life in the Newport Beach and Costa Mesa area. Through her varied career Lee worked as a bookkeeper, corporate executive, performing artist manager, commercial real estate appraiser and pari-mutuel clerk. A graduate of UCLA, she was a member of the Alpha Psi chapter of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and earned her B.A. in Public Service. Celebrating her Norse heritage, Lee was active in the Sons of Norway group, an organization honoring the heritage and culture of Norway. She served as the president of the San Clemente lodge chapter during the 1980s.

Lee is survived by her sister Ellen Hauge Harshbarger; brother Robert Hauge of Las Vegas, Nevada; son Quinton (Karla) of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter Cindy Ashmead (Tom) of Somerset, California; and grandchildren Joel Ashmead, Cherilyn (Ashmead) Neider, Sierra Ashmead, Eric Ashmead, Krystlyn Lee, Cheré Ashmead, and Victoria Lee.
