Margaret M. Grignon '72
Margaret Grignon ‘72, a retired justice of the California Court of Appeal, Second District, and her daughter Anne Grignon have opened a boutique appellate law firm in Long Beach, Calif.
Prior to founding Grignon Law Firm LLP, both were members of the Appellate Practice Group of Reed Smith LLP in Los Angeles: Justice Grignon as a partner, Anne Grignon as counsel.
A 1977 graduate of Loyola Law School, Justice Grignon retired from the California Court of Appeal in 2004. Her judicial career began with an appointment to the Antelope Municipal Court in 1984. Justice Grignon was elevated to the Los Angeles Superior Court in 1987, and appointed to the state Court of Appeal in 1990.
Justice Grignon is renowned for her considerable knowledge of and experience in business, intellectual property and many other areas. She has been named a “Super Lawyer” in Appellate Law by Super Lawyers each year of the past decade, from 2007 through 2016. She is a Vice President of the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers, a fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, a member of the California Women Lawyers Association and the National Association of Women Judges, and on the Board of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.
