Mary Stilwell ’13 and her mother, Heidi Stilwell, have gone into business together as owners and operators of the only InXpress franchise serving Santa Barbara County. The global brand has more than 400 franchises operating in 14 different countries and offers 20 years of insight and world-class technology that’s disrupting traditional shipping services around the world.

It’s all in the family for the Stilwells, who say they care about their customers’ parcels as if those packages were their own. Through agreements with a national network of shipping and freight service providers, the overall combined volume of business done globally allows InXpress to offer highly competitive rates to small and medium-size companies that would not normally qualify based on their monthly shipping volume. The local entrepreneurs are able to leverage these rates with world-class carriers while “providing the customer service you’d expect from a boutique family-owned business,” according to the Stilwells.

According to the company’s website, “Every 7.2 seconds a small business somewhere chooses InXpress to make a shipment, and InXpress moves more than 4.3 million shipments annually.” The company, the Stilwells say, is “known for its vast industry knowledge, reasonable rates and white-glove customer service.”

The Stilwells offer unique solutions for express, freight and mail services by working with carriers that have earned the public’s trust over decades of service. They provide domestic and international shipping solutions as third-party shipping experts, are able to assist and book heavy air freight and ocean cargo, and can help demystify import/export requirements, which can often be confusing due to constant regulatory changes.
