Michael L. Wilhelm, J.D. ‘81

Michael L. Wilhelm, J.D. ‘81 has been selected as a Northern California Super Lawyer for the eighth time. He is a shareholder in the Valley-wide practice of Walter Wilhelm Bauer Law Group, headquartered in Fresno.

Wilhelm is a business and creditor’s right attorney handling a variety of complex business transactions. He has represented lenders, borrowers, landlords, tenants, buyers and sellers in a wide variety of commercial transactions. Wilhelm organizes corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies for an extensive range of clients. He has also been involved as counsel in a variety of roles in issuance of bonds.

Wilhelm has spoken and written extensively on issues regarding bankruptcy, real estate, landlord/tenant and related topics. In addition, he authored “Fundamentals of Bankruptcy Law” which is updated annually.

Additionally Wilhelm is a founding member and past president of the Central California Bankruptcy Association and served on its board for six years. He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Christian Legal Society and is a board and executive committee member of the Fresno Business Council. He is also a board member and past chairman of the Fresno Education Compact, past chair of the Joint Task Force for School-Business Partnerships and currently serves on the Fresno County Task Force for Civic Education.

He has recently been recognized for his civic engagement at the 2016 Fresno County Bar Association Law Day event.
