Nicola Harrison '01

The third novel by historical fiction author Nicola Harrison '01, "Hotel Laguna," set in post-World War II Los Angeles and Laguna Beach, will be released in summer 2023. The work is to be published by St. Martin's Press (part of MacMillian), as were Harrison's first two novels, "Montauk" and "The Show Girl."

An Daily Bruin staffer and an English major with a specialization in creative writing, Harrison credits her time at UCLA with much of her success.

"I studied closely with Professor Carolyn See, who was a true mentor to me," Harrison said. "My time at UCLA's English department and specifically in the creative writing department got me to where I am today and I am very grateful."
