Pamela Tahim Thakur '01
Pamela Tahim Thakur '01, founder and managing attorney of Fullerton, Calif.-based Thakur Law Firm, APC, has been named one of Super Lawyers’ top Southern California lawyers for litigation for the second year in a row. Including her appearances on the group’s “Rising Stars” lists, Thakur has consistently been named among Southern California’s best ever since launching her own firm six years ago.
“It’s been a great honor to be selected as one of Southern California’s top litigation attorneys two years in a row,” Thakur said. “Our firm has been recognized by Super Lawyers every year since our founding, and we intend to continue holding ourselves to that exceptional standard going forward.”
After earning her B.A. in political science, Thakur received her J.D. and Master of Laws degree in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law. She speaks Spanish, Hindi and Punjabi, allowing her to represent a diverse range of clients from various communities and cultures.
After she completed her legal studies, Thakur practiced for nine years at a prominent Southern California law firm distinguishing herself as legal counsel in the first-ever binding federal jury trial arbitration in California, co-chair of the firm’s Healthcare Law practice, and serving as second chair in the largest ever jury trial victory in a misappropriation of trade secrets case.
In 2016, Thakur launched her own firm headquartered in Fullerton with a branch office in Northern California. She maintains a strong healthcare law practice, with the firm having the distinction of being the preferred legal counsel for the physicians and medical practices of the Riverside County Medical Association and San Bernardino Medical Society, but Thakur has branched out into areas of complex business and employment litigation and advising small business and non-profits on the constantly-changing landscape of employment laws. Thakur also serves as outside General Counsel for the charitable, non-profit Community Action Partnership of Orange County, better known as the Food Bank of Orange County.
In the midst of managing a diverse litigation and advisory practice, Thakur regularly contributes her time to social and charitable causes in her community in the South Asian Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association, and Fullerton Chamber of Commerce. While the firm’s active docket of high-profile cases and celebrity clients keeps her busy, Thakur still makes it a priority to devote some of the firm’s efforts to pro bono matters and to shuttle her two young sons to chess tournaments on the weekends.
