Raymond Bell '78Raymond Bell '78 will participate in the panel discussion following a free screening of "Bounce: The Don Barksdale Story" at the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 15, at 6 p.m. The documentary is being presented by UCLA's Beloved Community Initiative as part of its community awareness weeklong event. The film is produced by Bell's filmmaker partner Doug Harris, who co-produced "CALLED UP: The Emmett Ashford Story," of which Bell was executive producer.

Barksdale was a star basketball player at UCLA who became the first African American All-American in the NCAA, the first African American basketball player in the Olympics and the first African American NBA All-Star. While a student/athlete at UCLA, Barksdale owned and ran a record store and, long after his professional basketball career ended, was known for his varied entrepreneurship skills, including in the entertainment field. The groundbreaking 6-foot-6 hoopster was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012 along with fellow Bruins Jamaal Wilkes and Reggie Miller.
