Rosalyn C. King, M.P.H. '72, Ph.D.Rosalyn C. King, M.P.H. '72, Ph.D., recently made history as the first African American woman to receive the Francke Medal from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Board of Directors. This prestigious award recognizes significant international contributions to pharmacy practice.

In addition to this achievement, King is also this year’s recipient of the American Pharmacists Association's (APhA) Hugo H. Schaefer Award. This award recognizes her distinguished service to the pharmacy profession.

King, now retired, is author of From Watts to the World: A Chronicle of Service, in which she provides a comprehensive perspective on what she was able to achieve as a Black pharmacist in the realm of global health.
