Stanford "Stan" Singer, Ph.D. '87

molecule-notesThe Bruin community is sad to announce the passing of Stan Singer, Ph.D. ’87. Singer earned his doctorate from UCLA in the Theatre Arts department with an emphasis on motion pictures. He taught film studies for more than 40 years at several colleges and universities including UCLA, Arizona State University and the University of Evansville, Indiana. Singer published numerous articles on film history, was a founding member of the National Film Society and participated regularly at Cinecon, a classic film festival. He was a frequent lecturer for the Arizona Humanities Council and he continued to write and publish even after his retirement in 2010. At the time of his passing, he was retired and living in Sun City, Arizona.

Singer was one of the founding members of the UCLA Arizona Bruins. He served on the board for 10 years.
