In November 2024, Susan M. (aka Susie Myung-Sook) Chung '77, M.S.W. '79, described as "the 'Godzilla' of divorce attorneys in Silicon Valley," published in Kindle and Amazon her second autobiographical paperback book, "A Daughter's Journey: A Memoir."
The book "tells her accounts of courtroom dramas with golden threads of perspective and wisdom earned through decades of fighting, not only for justice, but her own personal struggles and a rare viral immune dysfunction. She shares how, even in the face of failure and defeat and through dark times, she persevered and emerged with her faith in humanity and God intact."
Chung's first book, 2011's "A Mother's Journey — A Tale of Early Korean Settlers in Silver Lake," was a tribute to her mother, describing her family's arrival in Los Angeles and their significant role in the founding of Koreatown.
Chung earned her bachelor's degree in sociology her master's degree in social welfare before receiving her Juris Doctorate from UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) in 1984. She has lived in San Francisco since 1981.
