Susie Anua Memorial ServiceSusie Anau ’11, an Asia American studies major, passed away Nov. 7, at age 37, in Sacramento, California, due to COVID-19. She leaves behind a young husband, a son who has just started kindergarten and a younger daughter.

Keith L. Camacho, professor and vice-chair of the Asian American studies department, wrote, “Susie… enjoyed conducting research for her community, as well as working with different student organizations and platforms at UCLA…Rest in peace and power, Susie.”

Anau was a transfer student from Sacramento City College and was very active in the UCLA Pacific Islands’ Student Association (PISA) and American Indian Student Association (AISA); those organizations are sending are sending a si’i (monetary donation) to help with funeral costs.
