Tiffany Yap, M.S. '09, D.Env. '16, has written a graphic novel: "Tales of the Urban Wild: A Puma’s Journey," to be released in October by Chin Music Press.
Described by Kirkus Reviews as a "rich, wide-ranging reading for budding naturalists," it follows a young mountain lion tagged as C-8 as he struggles to survive in the outskirts of a central California city. Part adventure story, part celebration of the ecology in our own backyards, the book highlights how interconnected we are with all the species in our environment and pushes for conscientious coexistence and stewardship.
A conservation scientist based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Yap earned her master's degree in environmental health and her doctorate in environmental science and engineering.
