Todd A. Spitzer '82Todd Spitzer '82 was inaugurated as Orange County District Attorney on Jan. 7.

Spitzer has spent the past 30 years in public service, focusing on keeping Californians safe from crime and giving victims a voice in the judicial process. He has served four terms on the Orange County Board of Supervisors and three terms as a member of the California Assembly. While in the Assembly, he led numerous victim’s rights measures, including co-writing Marsy’s Law, a ballot measure placing a Victim’s Bill of Rights in the state Constitution, and Megan’s Law, which now requires public access of a sex offender database.

“My education has put me on the path to where I am today. I’m proof that anyone can achieve great things with a lot of hard work and dedication toward finishing school,” Spitzer said. “I chose criminal law because I really believe that I can make a difference. Becoming the district attorney has been a lifelong dream. For everyone who helped me along my path, I thank you.”
