Tracy Badua '06
Award-winning author Tracy Badua '06 is proud to release her sixth novel, "Thea and the Mischief Makers" (HarperCollins), a middle-grade contemporary fantasy about a star athlete who must face her worst fears when two mischievous "duwendes" (Filipino goblins), threaten to wreak havoc on her life — and destroy her town.
Badua's work has garnered such accolades as the 2023 Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Sid Fleischman Humor Award, the 2024 Children's Literature Council of Southern California Award, multiple selections as Junior Library Guild Gold Standards and inclusion on state book lists across the United States.
An attorney who works for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Badua majored in sociology at UCLA and earned her J.D. at The George Washington University Law School.
