Join alumnus Weiko Lin ’97, M.F.A. ’02, when he screens his film “MIKI” at the DisOrient Asian American Film Festival in Eugene, Oregon. Shown as part of “The Truth Hurts” film series on Saturday, the screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers. “After my mom passed away, I moved to Chicago to mourn and find peace. There, I wrote my most personal play ‘MIKI’ to deal with this loss… This play saved me.”
About the film: After his Buddhist mother suddenly dies of cancer, an alcoholic Amerasian comic on the road reluctantly delivers his mother’s prayer bracelet to his estranged Jewish high school sweetheart in Chicago.
