Join APA Bruins for a special UCLA showing of Nothing is the Same followed by a post-show talkback with Asian American and Pacific Islander artists in theater, including Artistic Director Tim Dang, UCLA Theater, Film and Television student Kurt Kanazawa and more.
Nothing is the Same follows four children in 1940s Hawaii, whose lives are forever changed when they are forced from an innocent game of marbles into the terrifying reality of bombers overheard, teargas and bigotry.
Directed by Tim Dang, set designed by Tesshi Nakagawa, M.F.A. ’08 and sound designed by Howard Ho ’03, Nothing is the Same will leave audiences filled with the “aloha spirit” while highlighting AAPI histories. Click here for Rafu Shimpo’s article on the play.
UCLA alumni, students, staff, faculty and friends are all welcomed to attend. Use special discount code “UCLA” to get $5 off adult, senior and youth tickets purchased online or on the phone.
