Have you ever wondered how different regions influence the same wine varietal? Join the UCLA Alumni Boston Network for a special virtual tasting event with sommelier Sarah Marshall, owner of Lucille Wine Shop. Explore pinot noirs from around the globe, as Sarah enthusiastically explains the wine’s history, points of differentiation that mark each region, as well as tasting notes, favorite pairings and more. Take a deep dive on what you’re drinking, from the comfort of your couch.
Event fee covers the cost of the class. Participants are asked to purchase a bottle of pinot noir from Sonoma, California, Willamette Valley, Oregon and/or Burgundy, France, from Lucille Wine Shop or a store of their choice, to taste during this interactive webinar. Guests are encouraged to get two bottles for the class, while more experienced oenophiles may opt to bring a bottle from each region.
Click on Classes on the Lucille Wine Shop website to register. Zoom link will be sent prior to tasting event. Please direct event inquiries to Priti Ohri ’02 at firstname.lastname@example.org.
About Sarah Marshall
After cultivating her homegrown sense of flavor and warmth with a refined appreciation of taste and hospitality through her time at L’Esplalier and most recently as wine director for Oleana and Sarma, Sarah Marshall opened Lucille Wine Shop as a love letter to her grandmother’s lifelong resilience, compassion and taste. Lucille is the only neighborhood wine store where customers can receive fine dining-calibre hospitality, sommelier-level knowledge, all while supporting a local, female-owned business.
Wine Store Recommendations for Class
In addition to Lucille Wine Shop, Sarah also recommends the following Boston area stores to purchase bottles: Ball Square Fine Wines in Somerville, Formaggio Kitchen in Cambridge, Mayhew Wine Shop in Fort Point, Social Wines in South Boston, Taste Wine Bar & Kitchen in Downtown Boston, The Urban Grape in South End, and The Wine & Cheese Cask in Somerville.
