The UCLA community shares an open environment with its surrounding neighbors, which can include complex interactions with well-to-do homeowners as well as the homeless. Like any metropolitan city, which UCLA is, the police deal with traffic congestion, crime prevention and strike management to name a few. UCLA Police are trained and ready to protect and serve.

As a world class institution renowned for many things, we’re also a daily destination for visitors from around the globe, including world leaders, rock stars, celebrity athletes and intellectual superstars. Come hear how a modern police chief manages the delicate balance of order, safety and harmony for a community of 75,000 diverse individuals within the open borders and public spaces of the university. Chief Lee has degrees in Public Administration and Criminal Justice, and possesses extensive experience, having spent 26 years with the Beverly Hills Police Department.
