As part of UCLA’s Common Book program, Chicago Bruins will be hosting a gathering to discuss this year’s selection, “The Line Becomes a River,” from author Francisco Cantú. This memoir goes behind the headlines, providing a glimpse of the border on both sides of the line. In his book, Cantú explores the complex realities of the U.S. – Mexico border from his perspective as a former Border Patrol agent, and the moral implications of his own actions.
We will be meeting at Colectivo Coffee in Lincoln Park to discuss the book. Guests are responsible for covering the cost of what they order at the cafe. Weather permitting we will be meeting on the outside patio.
