UCLA Alumni Affairs, the UCLA Department of Economics, and the Academies for Social Entrepreneurship invite you to the UCLA Social Enterprise Academy Venture Showcase.
Three teams representing local community organizations will pitch business ventures to a panel of industry experts, angel investors, and prominent members of the UCLA community for the chance to win $30,000 in cash awards toward their ventures.

The Showcase will feature a keynote address from Patrick Maloney, Inspire Founder & CEO. A lifelong entrepreneur with more than 12 years of experience in the energy and technology spaces, Patrick is dedicated to building world-positive businesses that align profitability with purpose. He founded Inspire with the vision to answer the call of millions of consumers demanding action on climate change, by connecting them to the world’s first clean energy platform.
Patrick is a nationally-recognized leader in the clean technology sector, having received numerous awards and accolades. He is a member of YPO, a premier global community of chief executives committed to leading the world’s most impactful organizations. For his outstanding vision and achievement, Patrick was honored as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2018.
Prior to Inspire, Patrick worked as a venture capitalist and served on the founding team of two energy ventures, which were collectively acquired for $190 million.
