SUMMARY:Orange County Network: Bruins on the Troll Trail
DESCRIPTION:Step into a storybook morning with OC Bruins at South Coast Botanic Garden\, where Thomas Dambo’s larger-than-life trolls turn a garden stroll into a playful field study. \n\n\n\nJoin fellow UCLA alumni on Sunday\, Sept. 20\, for a self-guided group visit to Thomas Dambo’s TROLLS: A Field Study\, featuring 12 whimsical sculptures crafted from reclaimed wood and tucked throughout the Garden’s 87 acres. We’ll meet at 10:15 a.m. before our 10:30 a.m. ticketed entry time\, which has a firm start. Please plan to arrive on time so the group can gather and enter together. \n\n\n\nWe’ll add a Bruin twist with a photo scavenger hunt: explore the grounds\, find the trolls\, and capture your most creative poses for a lighthearted photo challenge. Learn more about the exhibit on the Garden’s website: https://southcoastbotanicgarden.org/thomas-dambos-trolls-a-field-study/ \n\n\n\nThis is a relaxed\, social way to spend time outdoors\, discover one of the South Bay’s standout garden experiences\, and connect with Bruins through art\, nature\, and a little creativity. Space is limited to 15 adult attendees. \n\n\n\nRegistration is $18 and includes general admission to South Coast Botanic Garden\, including access to the TROLLS exhibit. Please note: Registration fees are non-refundable\, as event costs are planned. \n\n\n\nThe Trolls experience may include more remote and rugged areas of the Garden\, with uneven terrain\, narrow paths and slopes. Guests should be comfortable walking and standing for the duration of the visit. \n\n\n\nPlease be respectful of Garden paths\, plantings\, fellow visitors\, and exhibit guidelines while enjoying the scavenger hunt. By attending\, you acknowledge that photos may be taken and used in future OC Bruins or UCLA Alumni communications. \n\n\n\nWe hope you’ll join us for a morning of art\, nature\, Bruin connection\, and memorable troll photos.

Cori coached the UCLA women’s basketball team to its first-\never NCAA championship last season\, and shares the credit with her outstanding woman’s team that exemplified resilience\, toughness and a strong bond that held them together during the remarkable\nseason. Mentored by the legendary John Wooden\, she has instilled values that brought the team to national recognition. “It’s not about any one of us — it’s about what we build together.”\nClose has built an extraordinary legacy at UCLA since taking over as head coach in 2011\, compiling a 321-143 record and becoming the program’s all-time winningest coach. Her crowning achievement came in 2026 when she led the Bruins to their first-ever women’s basketball national championship\, going 37-1 and routing South Carolina 79-51 in the title game\, capping back-to-back Big Ten Tournament titles in 2025 and 2026. Along the way she swept all four major national Coach of the Year awards in 2024-25\, developed seven WNBA draft picks\, and received the 2024 WBCA Carol Eckman Integrity in Coaching Award —\nearning a contract extension through the 2029-30 season in recognition of her sustained excellence both on and off the court.

SUMMARY:Seattle Network: UCLA Recent Grad Mixer
DESCRIPTION:Whether you arrived after graduation or this has always been home\, life after UCLA can make even a familiar city feel new when you see it through a fresh perspective. But there are likely plenty of Bruins nearby — we just don’t recognize one another without our BearWear. Now is the time to change that. Join us for an evening of relaxed fun with the classes of 2023-26. \n\n\n\nThis is as low-key as it gets: no program\, no icebreakers and no expectation that you work the room. If you’d rather not walk in alone\, bring a friend — they don’t need to be a Bruin. Drop in for a bit or stay all evening. And if you want a preview\, that’s Gasworks Brewing pictured below — our spot for the evening. Grab whatever you’d like from the bar or kitchen (separate tabs are available at the counter). Then head out to the dock to enjoy the water\, boats\, bridges and city views while you meet other recent grads who already know at least one chapter of your story. \n\n\n\nMaybe you’ll meet other sports fans to watch a UCLA game with this fall\, find people who want to explore a new local spot in the next few months\, or exchange career tips down the line. Who knows — you might even end up sitting across from one another at a Dinner for 12 Strangers that one of you hosts next February. This could be the start of a circle of Bruins you keep bumping into — and choosing to spend time with. Our greatest hope is that you make friends you like enough to say\, “We should do this again\,” and then actually do it. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP Coming Soon!
