Charlie Kratus, a second-year Business Economics major and student leader, is a digital storyteller who has journeyed from creating high school announcements to building one of the most engaging UCLA-inspired social media platforms. His work is centered around connection, creativity, and giving back. As the creator of Good Morning UCLA, Charlie highlights student organizations, campus events, and Bruin pride. What started as a playful experiment has grown into a vibrant content hub, now boasting over 100,000 followers across platforms.
Charlie’s videos amplify student voices. “One of my goals with Good Morning UCLA is to bring Bruins together. How can we give back to the UCLA community and beyond?” They highlight underrepresented groups and promote acts of service. Through partnerships and fundraising initiatives showcased on his page, he has raised over $4,000 to support unhoused communities in Los Angeles.
Charlie not only runs Good Morning UCLA but also holds several leadership positions in professional, charitable, and social organizations on campus. In these roles, he inspires fellow students to seek a sense of belonging, engage in activities, and contribute to the legacy of leadership that characterizes the UCLA experience.
Charlie’s mission is rooted in service and school spirit, which he affectionately refers to as “PEP” positivity, engagement, and philanthropy.“I feel like the luckiest guy in the world to be at UCLA and able to do so much”. His story is one of joyful purpose, showing up each day to help Bruins feel seen, supported, and inspired.
