Genesis Gutierrez is an entrepreneur, mental health advocate, and proud UCLA alum committed to creating safe and empowering spaces for women. Originally from Venezuela, she immigrated to the U.S. at the age of seven and became undocumented at thirteen. This journey shaped her deep understanding of resilience, self-worth, and community.

While pursuing a degree in International Development Studies at UCLA, Genesis began writing a motivational blog called MySevenSouls, aimed at encouraging young women to live boldly and confidently. This platform eventually evolved into Harness, a digital community that now connects over 150,000 women globally through science-based practices and shared storytelling around mental health and well-being.

As the Founder and CEO of Harness, Genesis has created a unique, action-oriented space where mental health is more than just a conversation—it’s a commitment. With more than 10,000 contributing writers and featured in outlets such as Business Insider, CNBC, Fast Company, and GirlBoss, Harness empowers women to take control of their mental well-being and unlock their full potential.

Genesis’s personal story, from navigating life as an undocumented Latina to building a thriving business, serves as a source of hope and inspiration for women everywhere, particularly those facing similar barriers.

For her, the mission is deeply personal. “It took a while for me to be proud of myself,” she says, “but the moment I started taking care of my mental health is when I began to thrive.” Through Harness and her ongoing advocacy, she is helping women find that same strength, one connection, one story, one step at a time.
