ULAA Graduation Workshop

Congratulations on graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles. We are excited to host you for our UCLA Latino Alumni Association and UCLA Latinx Graduation committee graduation workshop series.

The evening will start at 6 p.m. with brief presentations about the UCLA Latino Alumni and the UCLA Latinx Grad Committee. We’ll be hosting three different workshops that will feature Latino alumni.

Due to the nature of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this will be a virtual event. Please feel free to join the zoom call for every workshop or whichever workshop you think you will benefit from.

6:00 – 6:05 | Brief introductions about ULAA and Raza Grad Committee
6:05 – 6:25 | 1st workshop: What is mentorship and how to get a mentor?
6:25-6:30 | 5 minute break
6:35 – 7:00 | 2nd workshop: Tips and strategies to find a job during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Shedding Light and Breaking Boundaries: Pilipinx Research for Community Transformation

Thank you for your interest in joining the UCLA Pilipino Alumni Association (PAA) and Pilipino American Graduate Student Association (PAGaSA) for networking with P/Filipino/a/x researchers and learning about their work at our Pilipinx Student Research Symposium entitled “Shedding Light and Breaking Boundaries: Pilipinx Research for Community Transformation” Spring Quarter, Friday May 14, 2021 from 11:30am-3pm.

After opening our event with a keynote speaker, we will share a resource list of Pilipinx researchers and celebrate undergraduate students who will participate in the UCLA Undergraduate Research Week. Immediately afterwards, we will host 2 panels of graduate students presenting their research with moderators facilitating Q&A with the audience. We will conclude with a networking mixer where participants can build connections beyond the symposium.

1) Sharing your interests/expertise and/or contact info with other participants to facilitate networking portion of the symposium – due 5/14/21
2) Featuring your research in a curated annotated bibliography (a reference list that includes a brief summary and analysis for each researcher’s work listed) – due 5/7/21
3) Providing/receiving research mentorship or social-emotional support – due 3/26/21

ULAA Spring Career Panel: How Mentorship Can Lead to Success

Do you want to learn about the importance of mentorship and utilizing your UCLA network? Join the UCLA Latino Alumni Association for a very special career panel featuring three accomplished Latinx Bruins who have successfully navigated UCLA, the workforce and UCLA network.

Our alumni will discuss their own mentorship experiences and explore mentorship strategies. This event can help you learn how to enhance your UCLA experience, improve your personal motivation, and build your professional network.

The UCLA Latino Alumni Association (ULAA) and president will be hosting an informational session to go over the different roles and leaderships positions that open for the upcoming 2021-2022 elections.

UCLA Pilipino Alumni Association MusiXology Event

Join the UCLA Pilipino Alumni Association as they host a mixologist from Genever who will guide participants on making signature drinks from their special Palawan Mixer. Broadway star Emy Baysic ’00 leads the lineup of PAA alumni singers and poets who will perform in between the mixology lessons. Participants can select to be sent starter cocktail kits that they can use to follow along with during the mixology sessions or opt to just participate and watch the performances.

PAA Virtual Gamewatch

It’s Game On!

Come join the UCLA Pilpino Alumni Association  in our first ever online game watching party as UCLA looks to defeat our crosstown rival USC.

It is the last game of the season on Saturday, March 6th at 1 p.m. (PST) so join in the fun, dress in your blue and gold and let’s root our team to victory!
