UCLA Lambda Alumni Association LGBTQ+ Alumni Career Launchpad
UCLA Lambda Alumni Association and UCLA Alumni Affairs are proud to present the LGBTQ+ Alumni Career Launchpad for LGBTQ+ career professionals. This program is a career fundamentals program for young alumni looking to prepare and refine their professional toolkit for a strategic job search and networking process. This four-week program brings career development experts and UCLA alumni together to help our Bruins develop and articulate their strengths and feel more confident in the workplace.

Session 1: Tuesday, Jan. 12
7 – 8 p.m. Career Assessment/Self-Reflection and Résumé/Cover Letter
Complete the ONET Interest Profiler to better understand careers and jobs that fit your interests and values. Next, get a refresher on how to craft your résumé and a thoughtful cover letter to help you stand out in the applicant pool and hopefully land more interviews.
Session 2: Tuesday, Jan. 19
7 – 8 p.m. LinkedIn, Networking and Informational Interviews
Learn strategies to create effective LinkedIn and UCLA ONE profiles, as well as tools to help you network and job search. From online websites to informational interviews, learn strategies to create a memorable online presence and discover how to connect with more Bruins to help you take the next step in your career.
Session 3: Tuesday, Jan. 26
7 – 8 p.m. Job Search and Interview Strategies
Gain more information on how to setup a strategic job search and lean on your Bruin network to help you land meaningful career opportunities in the future. Additionally, we’ll discuss interviewing tips for success and things to keep in mind as a candidate in competitive applicant pools.
Session 4: Tuesday, Feb. 2
7 – 8 p.m. Career Panel – “To Be or Not to Be OUT at Work”
The final session will feature a panel of LGBTQ+ alumni and professionals sharing information and advice on if, when, and how to come out at work an important considerations for how to authentically show up in the workplace.
