Play as a Creative Tool for Innovation

Creativity is born in the mind: specifically in the imagination. Do you still play? When experimenting at home or at work do you imagine, create, explore, iterate, and are you engaged? Remember how it was when you were a child, and you forgot all about time and place because you were so immersed in playing?

Brilliant ideas live on the edge of ridiculous ideas.Creative problem solving through play is a core lifelong skill that we focus on and continue to use throughout our lives. Play has the power to help us build our creative capabilities, explore, and wonder from within. Play, gets us in touch with our point-of-view on a topic and helps us develop a unique perspective and individual style of creative expression. It allows us to adapt to change and open new ways of working and thinking. This talk will focus on the cognitive, physical and social and emotional benefits of play as adults and offer suggestions on harness the power of play for creativity.
