A candlelight vigil is being held in his honor on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 4:30 p.m. in the UCLA School of Law Shapiro Courtyard.
Eyvin Hernandez ’01, J.D. ’05 earned Physics and Mathematics degrees and graduated from UCLA School of Law. He joined the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office in 2006 and has remained connected to his alma mater as a UCLA Football season ticket holder, continuing his studies through UCLA Extension and participating in various UCLA Alumni programs. Hernandez has been wrongfully detained in Venezuela since March 2022.
