Palmas is the percussive, rhythmic hand claps used by Flamenco artists to accent the music and choreography. If you’ve ever wanted to try it — now’s your chance! Join us before Mellizo Doble in the Royce Hall West Lobby for a Palmas workshop and performance demonstration. Flamenco artists Reyes Barrios, Yaelisa Petlin, and “El Rubio” (Jason Maguire) will be teaching and performing the various techniques.
The bar opens at 6:30, the workshop and demonstration begins at 7:10. Grab a cocktail and get ready to clap in community for some fabulous Palmas!
