The UCLA Latino Alumni Association (ULAA) invites you to our virtual "Careers in Government" career panel.

Interested or considering a career in government? Latino voices and representation are needed now more than ever. Hear from Bruin alumni who have successfully entered public service at the local, national, and international levels. The UCLA Career Center will also join us to share all of its government internship resources.

Featured Panelists:

Ivelisse Porroa-Garcia '16: Porroa-Garcia is a Director of Government Affairs at Ferox Strategies where she represents Fortune 500 multinational corporations, helping them navigate the federal government. Previously, she worked for six years on Capitol Hill, ultimately serving as the Policy Director of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and the President of the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association. She is a graduated from UCLA in 2016 with a B.A. in Political Science.

Jesse Coronado '82, M.B.A. '84: Coronado is a double Bruin, having earned a B.A. in Latin American Studies in '82 and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance and International Management in '84. Before UCLA, he served in the U.S. Army for almost eight years in finance and public affairs. After graduating from UCLA, Jesse served in the U.S. Department of State as a Management Officer in nine countries where he lead acquisition efforts to purchase properties for consulate general compounds in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Tijuana, Mexico and for an embassy housing compound in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  He has held management positions at Citibank and is now dedicated to volunteering and mentoring young professionals.

Magali Limeta '12: is a graduate of UCLA, where she majored in Anthropology. She was recently elected to the Novato Unified School District Board. Her passion for public service is rooted in her struggles navigating the education system on her own as a first-generation Mexican-American. Magali also serves on the Board of the UCLA Latino Alumni Association where she chairs the Scholarship Committee.
