juana-resizedJuana Hernandez '09 recently graduated with her Master’s in Public Policy (M.P.P.) from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. On Class Day, she was honored with the Robert F. Kennedy Excellence in Public Service Award, a distinction reserved for one graduating student each year. Hernandez was also selected alongside faculty, staff and fellow graduate student leaders to receive the inaugural Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Award. She is a proud alumna of the University of California Public Policy and International Affairs Program, of the UCLA Center for American Politics and Public Policy Quarter in Washington Program, and of the UCLA Academic Advancement Program. While at UCLA, Hernandez was a Ralph J. Bunche Scholar; in 2009 she was the only Bruin selected as a Harry S. Truman Scholar, a national award for college juniors who are committed to public service. Hernandez graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in American Literature and Culture, and minors in Chicana/o Studies, Education Studies and Political Science.
