Kevin Lowell '89
This fall saw the publication of the latest book by Kevin Lowell '89.
“I’m excited to share that my new book, 'Leading Modern Technology Teams in Complex Times,' is now available!," he said.
"I believe that the role of the leader is to create an environment where people can do great work in service of something bigger than themselves," Lowell continued. "This book is for anyone who wants to do that.
"I asked leaders to share their stories, and I also drew on the research of leading scholars. Together, the stories and the research – and my own leadership experience – provide a guide to leading in today’s complex world.
"In the book, I cover everything from the notion of complexity to the importance of listening to communicating effectively to collaborating to developing talent. I apply these practices to each of the principles of the Agile Manifesto, which is a set of values and principles that have helped teams across industries and around the world deliver better software faster.
"My book extends traditional notions of leadership to the world we live in and work in today. I’m confident you’ll find the stories and the research and the key takeaways to be a valuable resource. You can find it at my publisher's website, Springer.com, or at Amazon, or on my LinkedIn profile through the link under 'Publications.'
"I hope you enjoy it!"
Lowell, who earned his B.A. with highest honors in English literature, is currently the executive vice president and chief people officer of UScellular.
