Laurie Tristan '93

Laurie Tristan '93 was selected as the School Counselor the Year for the State of California. She has a nearly 27-year career in school counseling in the Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD), a district she attended all through high school.

Tristan and all other winners from each state were recently recognized for this achievement in Washington, D.C., by the American School Counselors Association.

In a congratulatory Instragram post, SAUSD wrote, "Laurie’s dedication to empowering SAUSD students, fostering growth and creating a positive legacy is truly commendable. She is a strong advocate for the school counseling profession and her impact on students and school counselors is immeasurable."

Tristan earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and received a masters in school counseling from Cal State Fullerton.
