J.J. (Jennifer) Lee '13J.J. (Jennifer) Lee '13 updated her Linkedin followers on her achievements, including the one she said she is most proud of: planning her weedding.

"As I transitioned from an engineering to a marketing role [at L'Oreal], directing a new team, SkinCeuticals, I also embarked on a personal adventure: planning my wedding," Lee wrote.

"From NYC to California, I orchestrated a week of events—a bridal shower, Chinese tea ceremony and a Western reception. On top of that, I decided to design and create all my bridesmaid dresses.

"Initially, I struggled with delegation, believing that sheer effort alone could achieve everything. However, with no extra hours to give, I learned that true success comes from collaboration and trust— from higher management AND my team. It required support from ALL sides.

"My days were filled with office work from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., followed by sewing until midnight. Yet, this creative outlet fueled my passion to innovate in all aspects of my life, reminding me that work-life balance isn’t just a buzzword—it’s essential. Balancing hobbies, side hustles and professional responsibilities keeps us motivated and fulfilled."

Lee earned her bachelor's degree in computational and systems biology.
