Thomas Van '96, J.D. '00Thomas Van '96, J.D. '00, has joined the Financial Services Litigation team in McGlinchey Stafford's Irvine office as Of Counsel.

“It is quite exciting to add a financial services litigator of Thomas’s prominence to our roster here in California,” said Michelle McCliman, Irvine Office Managing Member. “We look forward to complimenting the caliber of financial services counsel the firm offers nationwide here in Irvine.”

With more than 20 years of representing financial services companies, Van focuses his practice on litigation, title insurance matters and regulatory compliance. In particular, he advises clients related to the “alphabet soup” of mortgage banking and consumer protection statutes. He also handles title insurance, trustee services, asset management, and landlord-tenant matters, as well as issues ranging from lien position and property partitions to title and loan fraud.

With a background spanning Big Law and small private firms, Van has managed and led litigation teams of various sizes. Licensed in California and a member of the California Lawyer’s Association and Orange County Bar Association, he also volunteers with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County and speaks Cantonese and Japanese.

Opened in 2013, McGlinchey’s Irvine office is currently home to nine attorneys and six legal professionals who offer litigation and compliance counsel to the financial services, real estate and insurance industries.
