Refik Anadol, M.F.A. ’14

Refik Anadol’s recent collaboration with LA Phil and Esa-pekka Salonen “Visions of America:Amerique Audio/Visual Performance” has been selected by Prix Ars Electronica jury to be screened during Ars Electronica Animation Festival in Linz, Austria. The Ars Electronica Animation Festival screens a selection of the most outstanding animated works honoured by the Prix Ars Electronica jury in recognition of their substantive and stylistic quality.

A graduate of the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture, Anadol created the immersive experience — combining architecture, music, design and art inside Walt Disney Concert Hall — at UCLA with the help of principal faculty mentor Casey Reas, professor of design media arts; a graduate student in architecture; and a cadre of undergraduate and graduate students in the department of design media arts.

It debuted in Disney Hall in November.
