Rick Steiner '80
The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) has presented its Fellows Award to Rick Steiner '80 for his significant contributions to systems engineering. He received the award for his industry-leading work in developing the Systems Modeling Language and related real-world projects.
Steiner – an instructor at UC San Diego Extension and co-author of "A Practical Guide to SysML: The Systems Modeling Language," – has been a systems engineer and architect for more than 30 years. As a practitioner and proponent of model based systems engineering, he focuses on making the practice of systems engineering better and more efficient. Steiner received his INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional certification in 2014.
The award was presented at INCOSE’s International Symposium, the organization’s annual flagship event for systems engineers worldwide.
