Yvette Hovsepian Bearce, Ph.D. '13

Bruin and scholar Yvette Hovsepian Bearce, Ph.D. ’13 released a new book published by Routledge and titled, "The Political Ideology of Ayatollah Khamenei." Hovsepian Bearce is a Middle East scholar and researcher specializing in the role of Iran in contemporary world politics, and is a fellow at the Center for the Middle East Development at the UCLA. The book has received critical praise from policymakers and scholars in the field.

The author also engaged in humanitarian work in 2015. Hovsepian Bearce helped respond to the 2015 Syrian refugee crisis and spent three months in Germany assisting refugees and Germans in camps and classrooms.
