Brigid Leventhal ’55
Dr. Brigid Leventhal has served as director of pediatric oncology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine since 1976. She graduated from UCLA in 1955 and received her M.D. from Harvard University in 1960. Her special interest in childhood leukemia has developed into a highly successful crusade for advancement in the field of leukemia research. For this work, she received the Federal Woman’s Award in 1974 and was named Outstanding Career Woman of 1979 by the National Council of Women. Her record of clinical research, published works, medical expertise, active teaching and volunteer efforts is truly indicative of Dr. Leventhal’s devotion and commitment to her profession.
